This page explains what happens to your data when you visit this site. Short version: no analytics, no third-party embeds, no fonts from Google, no advertising. One small usage log for the interactive terminal, and that is it.

Server logs
The web server of my hosting provider keeps access logs, as web servers do. They contain your IP address, the time of the request, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, and your browser's user agent. They exist to keep the server secure and to diagnose faults, and the hosting provider deletes them on its regular schedule. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Session cookie
The site software (GRAV) sets one technically necessary session cookie. It holds a random identifier, contains no personal data, and expires after 30 minutes. It is required for the site to work and needs no consent.
The terminal
The interactive terminal on the home page records a small usage log so I can see whether anyone uses it. Each entry holds the type of event (the terminal was opened, a command was run, a game ended), the time, and your IP address. When you play the maze game and enter a name for the highscore board, that name and your score are stored too and shown to other visitors in the terminal's highscore list. Enter only a name you are happy to see displayed.
The log lives in a database on the hosting server, is not shared with anyone, and is used for statistics only. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding whether the feature is used, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If you want your entries removed, write to the address above with the approximate time of your visit.
Data in your browser
Your theme choice and the files you create in the terminal's editor are stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your browser and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
Fonts and third parties
All fonts are served from this site. No requests go to Google or any other third party while you read this page. Links to other websites, such as my employer's, lead to sites with their own privacy notices.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email the address above.
